Panta rhei, Heraclitus and life

Video 42 seconds

2023

This work stems from the need to address grief, an exercise in personal catharsis that seeks to express the feeling of powerlessness and the inability to hold onto time, to hold onto the lives of our loved ones. The 42-second video of hands in a "first-person" gesture fading into water is the result of taking a series of drawings made with transparent silicone on glass and placing them under running water in the "La Vieja" stream in Bogotá; proposing a dialogue between techniques and media. Panta rhei ("Everything flows" in classical Greek) is a concept attributed by Plato to Heraclitus.
