“AL rojo” is a project that refers to and seeks to create memory around a very powerful social action during the pandemic in Colombia; from the archetype of the urban, political, social and territorial that involves the use of the construction brick block as a plastic language.

This social action began when, during the most critical moments of the lockdown, very poor families in need and hunger began to put red cloths in the windows of their houses in a silent cry for help; there were neighborhoods where the landscape was subtly tinged with red.

However, this difficult situation was followed by an unprecedented wave of solidarity. Aid, food supplies, medicine, and volunteers arrived from different sectors of society to rescue these families in precarious situations, in many cases before the government did.

On the one hand, the intervened brick blocks expose the collapse of our social and political structures in the face of the threat of the virus and the application of its policies; and on the other hand, they remind us that solidarity is the true value that rescues a society in the face of catastrophe.
